Calvin's Catechism
A reformulation of the Genevan
Catechism.
In 1560 Calvin Published a reformulation of
the Geneva Catechism which had been used to train and catechize
families. The republished catechism is in the form of a dialogue
between a Minister of the Gospel and a young man, or as Calvin says,
"a child." I am persuaded that not many children today
would go very far in the conversation Calvin is holding with this
"child."
The catechism is excellent. Those who
hold to its doctrine will be quite proficient in religion.
I have taken a portion of this catechism
and duplicated it in the Lord's
Day Section of this website.
I have also taken the liberty of dividing
the Catechism into 4 sections to help the download time to your
monitor. Calvin did not separate the Catechism at all except for the
obvious section breaks in the flow of thought.
